This is a brief
description highlighting some documents in one of our collections.
This month's selection is from the Royal
Sussex Regiment collection which covers the history of the Regiment from its
establishment in 1701 as the 35th Regiment of Foot to its amalgamation in The
Queen's Regiment in 1966. To date the collection comprises some 200 boxes of
documents, 40,000 photographs, 1,250 printed books and 50 films.
Royal Sussex Regiment game register, 1928-35
Register of big game (ibex, bears, crocodile, etc.) taken by officers of the 2nd Battalion in India, giving date, name of officer, place, number and type of game taken, and remarks.

Royal Sussex Regiment cuttings book, 1860-72
Contains cuttings from national and local newspapers, and other printed material, relating principally to the local corps of the Sussex Rifle Volunteers, and also to the 1st Company Cinque Ports Rifle Volunteers (Hastings Corps) and to the 1st Cinque Ports Administrative Battalion.
